In recent years, Liupanshui, a city in SW China"s Guizhou Province, has gained popularity for its cool summer and the fun of low-altitude skiing in winter. Liupanshui"s diverse cultural treasures are also made well known, such as Pan Song of the Buyi ethnic group, the Torch Festival of the Yi ethnic group, and farmers" paintings in Shuicheng District, etc. Farmers’ paintings were originated from Houerguan Village, Douqing Town, Shuicheng District, where the Waishu Miao people, a branch of Miao ethnic group in Guizhou, has been living for generations.

近年来，六盘水——“中国凉都”的名号越叫越响，冬天里“低纬度滑雪”的金字招牌也越做越大，越来越多的人来感受她的魅力。六盘水多元的民族瑰宝也正在被人熟知，布依盘歌、彝族火把节，农民画也是其一，源于水城区陡箐镇猴儿关村，这里世代生活着苗族支系歪梳苗族。

You can see the paintings on the walls of every household in Houerguan Village, with some interpreted in both Miao language and mandarin. They are of different sizes but all in bright and pleasing colors. Almost everyone in the village can draw.

猴儿关村各家各户的墙壁上都画着农民画，有些还用苗汉双语解释着主题。大大小小，尺寸不一，色泽艳丽，看过之后便满心欢喜。村子里的人几乎都会画农民画，从几岁到80几岁都能画上一些。

Li Chunmei has been teaching farmer"s paintings in Cichong Primary School since 2009, when she was 27 years old. "I have 12 classes each week and my students are in each grade. And we have various activities regarding to farmers" paintings held by student groups." The course has inspires children"s interests for farmers" paintings, and some have already embarked on the trip to be professional artists. Li, now one of the children"s favorite teachers, said with modest, "it"s because they love it."

2009年，27岁的李春美在村子里一众画师中脱颖而出，去茨冲小学当上了老师，专门教授农民画，一教就是12年，“现在一周12节课，每个年级都有，也有农民画社团活动。”这门课启发了孩子们的兴趣，有些学生因此走上了专业美术的学习之路。李春美是孩子们最喜欢的老师之一，她谦虚地说，“是因为他们喜欢农民画。”
